- Bachelor in Paradise‘s Mike Johnson just asked Keke Palmer on a date during a live TV segment.
- Twitter is coming for him because he put her on the spot while she was working.
Ever since Mike Johnson was sent home on Bachelor in Paradise, he’s been stirring up a lot of talk about why he wasn’t picked to be the next Bachelor and if he’s fully dating Demi Lovato. Now, after appearing on the Strahan, Sara, and Keke show this morning, he’s stirring up conversation about when it’s appropriate to ask someone out on a date.
In case you missed this morning’s segment, Mike was on live TV and talking to Michael Strahan, Sara Haines, and Keke Palmer about whether or not he thinks ABC made the right decision when they went with Peter Weber instead of him. He also talked a bit about dating Demi and said that he made a mistake by being so public about their blossoming relationship, which is when he segued into asking Keke on a date…in public, which, no, doesn’t make any sense. He said, “I don’t like dating in public, but if I were to ask you if we could go on a date in the public…”
Keke looked so surprised when he said that and begged Michael and Sara to go to the next question. Unfortunately, they turned around while they audience laughed and cheered. Eventually, Michael responded and was like, “Mike, let me tell you something. Demi’s my girl, I love this one here too now. You mess up and I’m coming for you. You don’t want that.”
And Keke said, “Ladies, I’m at work. I’m at work, guys! Go ahead. I’m at work!”
While it might seem like this was all fun in games, many took to Twitter to call him out and criticize him for lacking respect and asking her out while she was doing a TV interview for her job. Some said he was “givin’ off the big red flags” by putting her on the spot, and others accused him of “looking for the come up” and being a “celebrity chaser” since he was just linked to Demi Lovato.
Keke later posted the clip on Instagram and captioned it, “Even at the workplace #imtakenbymyjob 😭😅🥴❤️ #strahansarakeke.”
